Perishable Food Products (Ready to eat)
Consumer Technology Products (Mobiles, Tablets etc)
In this setting analyze the Supply Chain Expectations and Constraints. You will have to consider complete Indian market consisting of Tier 1,2 and 3 cities only. Assume your role as a manufacturer.
Ans:- Let us take Perishable Food Products segment. In perishable food products segment, there are various supply chain expectations and constraints like:-
a). The expectation of perishable products producer is to procure the product at appropriate time and deliver it at correct time to end consumer. The main constraint is the timing during which the product might perish.
b). Perishable products include fruit, vegetables, cake etc which are having low shelf life. The product should be kept in appropriate temperature limit to avoid spoil. This is a big constraint in supply chain because it it expensive to dispatch products in AC environment.
c). The delivery to end user also is a major constraint. For ex:- Vegetables are procured in the morning from fields and spplied to food market by 9 AM. The vegetable should remain fresh throughout the day to make the sales.
d). Speed of vehicle and distance of delivery plays major role for perishanble products.
e). Sanitation must be maintained in supply of perishable food products. Any contamination would lead to wastage of products.
