explain and discuss Glasser's Choice Theory with examples
Glassers choice theory said that all individuals in the world and a setting do is behave in a certain manner, and this behavior is a choice we make that makes us who we are and that aims and propels to fulfill our needs and desires. These needs and desires can be categorized under all that Maslow and Mclelland presented, the fulfillment of which propels the vehicle of our behavior in society.
Glasser gave the concept of a 'Quality World' that is unique to each individual and that each individual aims to make. This is the world that the individual is most comfortable in and that the individual tries to formulate by the help of ones behavioral conduct.
Then Glasser conceptualized the ' Comparing place' wherein he said that an individual relates and compared his ideal images that exist within the quality world with the one that he happens to face in the reality world.
Fir instance, if I aim to become a criminal psychologist I would not go ahead and study the curriculum of computer engineering, so I would actively choose my behavior that would make me go for a curriculum that involves reading of material related to criminal justice.
