Discuss how products can be adapted physically and culturally for foreign markets. Do you agree if the product sells in Morehead it will sell well in Berlin or Tokyo?
It is a known fact that the people from different places and different cultural backgrounds will have an affinity towards different types of products. In order to meet this demand, the company should make the required changes to their product so that they can get closer to the customers. The changes can vary from the renaming the product, changing the package, change the product components, and sometimes a total redesign of the product. These are commonly followed methods in order to get adjusted to the local business environment. The customers will appreciate this effort and starting trusting the brand. It is not assured that the product will be a success every single time but most of the times it works for the company. I do not think that the product that sells well in Morehead will also sell well in Berlin or Tokyo. The cultural differences between all the three cities are huge and the company cannot take that for granted. The Asians are not very welcoming when it comes to western products and the companies first need to build the trust before trying to sell the products. European culture is very different as well where the customers will ask a large number of questions before buying a new product. The company's product should be able to answer them in a simple way in order to succeed. So there are many barriers and the same product cannot sell in different cultural environments.
