• Consist of

1. Skeletal muscle or voluntary muscle.
2. Smooth muscle or involuntary muscle.
3. Cardiac muscle

skeletal muscle or voluntary muscle.

• these muscle cells are in conscious control.
• Eg: Triceps (straighten arm at the elbow)

Biceps (bend arm at elbow)

Hamstring (bend leg at knee) , etc...

smooth muscle or involuntary muscle

• these cells works automatically
• Not in our control or wish.
• Eg: muscles of eye

Muscles of blood vessels

Muscles of lungs, etc. ..

cardiac muscle

• special type of involuntary muscle.
• Seen only in heart.
• It contracts regularly and continuesly.

1. myosin heads hydrolyze ATP and become reoriented and energized.
2. Myosin head bind to actin forms crossbridge.
3. Myosin head rotate towards center of the Sarcomer (power stroke).
4. As myosin head bind ATP the cross bridge detached from the actin.
