In industrial automation, the SCADA software package is important and easily upgradeable. Which can define as" SCADA is a computer system that gathers all the information of plant, analyze and monitors the plant's real time data.

In this software package, there are two main approaches, namely the Centralized approach and distributed approach.

Centralized approach: Here, a plant monitors and is controlled by one single central computer (called a mainframe); the mainframe performs monitoring the plant, and total data is stored in a single database on this mainframe computer. All the tasks in the plat can be done by the single

 mainframe computer.

Distributed approach: Here, the monitoring and controlling system is shared by the SCADA system across several small PC's (Computers). So here, the plant monitors by several systems. And the systems are structured as per the data required for each task in the plant monitoring.

 Current and new approaches:

The advanced development in the Communication system is the main driving force to the new SCADA software systems.

 1. Man-to-machine interface

 2. Communications techniques

 3. Remote Terminal units

 And

 4. Rapid development and improvement in LAN technology for the master stations.

 5. Incorporate with cloud computing technique.

 6. Data driven clustering approach, to identify the normal state and critical state of a plant.

 7. Recently the new approach proposed to control and monitors the wind farms based on Fuzzy logics. This new approach is works to alarms on Fuzzy Logic based in a plant with SCADA system database.
