Give an example of a situation in which the waiting time cost is based on waiting time in the queue.

Give an example of a situation in which the waiting time cost is based on waiting time in the system.

Example 1: When a customer goes to a Salon for a haircut, he is waiting for the barber to finish the service before he can do anything else. Here the waiting time cost will be based on the waiting time in the salon.

Example 2: When a customer goes for a massage, he is not able to do anything else while the masseuse is working on the body.

Example 3: When a customer is painting his house, he is not able to use the house while the painters are still working in the house, till the paint job is finished.

These 3 examples describe the inablity to use your assets/resources while you are waiting for the task to finish.
