To what extent can we really see the world as it really is?
Perceptions matter a lot in this era. There is a lot of good and a lot of bad out there. In general context, a powerful country, in its hunger for power, likes to manipulate the facts and project "what is not really true" as true and mislead the population. But at the end of the day, this is all due to the business entities that pressurise the Government for a "certain profit motive". This is reality.
The way I perceive the world today, it is filled with hatred for one another, where humanity is ceasing to exist. We are more concerned with our bank balances and our struggle to be a part of the limelight, but we are less concerned about helping the poor and needy.
Our DNA is being modified with lot of negative elements such as selfishness, deceit, hatred, violence, theft and anything that we feel like doing in order to dominate our competition.
In my view, we are slowly turning to be humans minus the humanity quality.
Our hunger and our demands are leading to resource exploitation and we are being the main cause for disturbing the balance in nature environmentally, philosophically and culturally.
2.To what extent is truth a function of power?
There is a very strong meaning to "truth". But is truth really being valued of late? The answer is a clear no. Media controlling what to publish and what not to publish, thereby, misleading the general public on the day to day affairs. The reason I chose media is to cite an example that media updates us all on the things that happen across the globe. They have a very responsible part to play. But instead, media keeps mum on reporting facts as they are paid handsomely by the major game changers in the world.
They play the devils advocate rather than sticking with truth and reporting the facts.
Therefore, truth as a function of power, sounds good to the ear, but there is no value to it in this century as we all want to hear things that are good to our ears and this way we distance ourselves from the facts which is a reality. But, sometime sooner, truth in all ethical sense, is going to bounce back let it be in terms of what ever facts are concealed, but the real power of truth will be so strong and powerful that the corrupt and violence promoting power houses will have a lot to answer, if not to the general public, at least, to their inner conscience.
3.To what extent to texts have stable meanings?
Ancient, medival and modern texts are always designed and created in crypto manner. The extent to which texts have a stable meaning is far from the meaning in the hearts. The texts were always masked from revealing the facts. Therefore, there is no proper stable meaning to the modern day or the periods before modern day texts. What you is what you believe has a much stronger meaning, even though, sometimes, this lands us in dilemma and confusion.
4.What are the best Christian “take-aways” from postmodernism?
Religions are commercialized. Religions were created to establish a certain discipline and helping the people to understand this discipline and follow it.
But instead, religions started to dictate terms to people capitalizing on their weaknesses and out of this arised alternate competition and alternate brances out of religions.
Be it Christianity, Islam or HInduism, at a human heart, we hate to be dominated. Adding to this, if there is enough money power with a person, then an alternate branch out of a particular religion is created. For example multiple churches and multiple branches in christianity like Roman Catholics and protestants.
The way I envision, religions killed the humanity within us and made us more weaker. There are absolutely no take aways from any sort of religion as they are now completely off the track and eventually killed humanity.
We have no one to blame but ourselves for bringing this upon us.
