Ireland is a open economy and ranks first for high-vlue foreign direct investment flows. At a time of global economics and politicl uncertainity, Irelnd offers stable, pro-business environment and is an good location from which companies seeking to establish a base in the EU can develop and expand their businesses. Out of seven million hectares of land five million were using for Agricultural purposes. 2%GDP is produced from Agricultural products such as dairy product, barley, whear,potatoes etc. Ireland is ranked 2nd among 44 countries in the Europe region. Irish economy has registered impressive growth, but the government faces many economic policy challenges.
Ireland is famous for its hospitality, warm welcome has extended to embrace foreign corporations too. If they set up in ireland they get to pay one of the lowest rates of corporate tax in the European union. Paul Krugman, Nobel laureate, called after a new Irish tax relief in 2015 led to a rush of multinationals transfering intellectual property assets to Ireland. More than a thousand big mostly American global companies have operatios in Ireland, among them: Google, Apple, Facebook, Paypal, Microsoft, Yahoo,Twitter etc. Analysis from the Economic and Social Research Institute, ESRI, suggests that Ireland will fall in to some recession this year due to Brexit problems and spreading of Covid-19 viruses. Finally whatever happen in the coming years, one thing is sure that Ireland's economy will grow upwardes in the world marketplace.
