The current state of motivation in the organization is related to only a few things. The company keeps the employees motivated by talking about the appraisal at the end of the year. They talk about the international travel and exposure to keep them motivated. They promise a good hike if the performance is good and there will be awards for the top performers here and there. These are the very commonly used methods by the organizations to keep the employees motivated.
The changes made should give a human feel to it and the motivational factors should become very personal to the employees. When the employees feel that the company really cares for them the performance will go up automatically. The company should provide an opportunity to earn more based on the performance. This should be available to the employees at levels and everyone should be given equal opportunities. The company should provide the option to work from home for a week in one month to the people who have family related problems. The company should offer paid leaves to the employees who have families. These ways the company can keep their employees motivated and help them in improving their performance significantly. Some of the companies already follow these methods but they are not commonly followed.
