Based on what we have read and from your professional and personal experiences, what would you expect to be offered to you concerning patient rights as part of the admissions process?

Patient rights as part of the admission process:

  • First of the admission criteria ie the filling the forms given to the patient must be filled properly so that there should not be any confusion in persons identity,it must meet all the needs while admitted in the hospital.
  • Three conceptions should be fulfilled by the hospital management -informed consent,informed referral and informed discharge.
  • Rooms alotted to the patient should require and accomplish all his needs like it should be clean ,noise free , and with ventilation or AC needs(depending upon request)
  • Nurses and doctors who treat the patients should be readily available to avoid any emergency situations.
  • Doctor patient relationship should play an active role in order to fulfil the requirements and involved in decisions to be taken.
  • Patient should be explained about all the insurances covered in hospital so that it would be easy to for a patient to cover all the bills at regular terms and within reasonable costs.
  • Spiritual and religious beliefs of the patient and the family members are given the utmost importance.
  • medical history are not asked by many hospitals staff,this is one of the major problems that affects the treatment of patient,so all the healthcare industries should be aware of asking medical history.
