"Popular music " is the music which has been in the mass production are quite popular among most of the Americans , and that draws upon a variety of preexisting musical traditions this statement is completely apt as popular music is themselves derived from traditional pop music ,also the traditional folk music also the rock and roll music . Hence the sentence "and that typically draws upon a variety of preexisting musical traditions." it actually explains that how the popular music is deeply rooted to the traditional music. Personally saying the popular music has become an important part of each and every American also the popular music lets you back to the traditional pop music,folk music and reminds you to the rich traditional heritage of our preexisting musical traditions in America .

After looking at such a large spectrum's of music it did changed my initial perspective of popular music initially i thought popular music actually encompasses of only rock and roll with beats but after looking after the wide perspectives of music can actually include  any form of music from urban and dance to rock, country and also Latin. Anything can be integrated in it.

One of my all time favourite music is the song 'dangerous' by the king of pop Michael Jackson he was the most world wide renowned pop star his song dangerous was one of the most widely favoured songs of the century all over the world. It is the perfect combination of dance to rock and also the urban combinations. His popular step 'Moon Walk' was and still one of the most liked steps.

American popular music actually connects emotionally to the person and is an integral part of each and every American hence it has now become an integral part of the lifestyle of the Americans and it actually connects to the people in whatever situations they are in their lives.
