1) why would the term urogenital apply more to males
than females?
2) what role can the nervous system have in ED(erectile
dysfunction)?
3)Despite being well anchored in the pelvic cavity, the uterus can
prolapse. how does this happen?
4) Name the body system that is most important in maintaining
homeostasis in the body and Briefly explain why ?
ANS:1): The term urogenital apply more to males than females:
The urogenital system includes both the excretory organs and the reproductive organs.
It is because both the systems originates and develop from the intermediate mesoderm.
- In males, the urethra transports both semen and urine. so, in males, the reproductive system and the urinary system both systems are involved.
The male urogenital system consists of the parts including the epididymis, testes, vas deferens, urethra, ejaculatory ducts, pe-nis, prostate and accessory glands.
The pe-nis and urethra belong to both the urinary and reproductive systems in males.
- while in females, The urethra is not considered as a part of the female reroductive system.
because in females, it plays no role in either intercoure, fertilization or delivery.
The two systems are functionally and structurally separate.
- The female reproductive ducts are more independent of the excretory system than are those of males.
In female, urinary system consists urinary bladder and the reproductive system consists clitoris, vagina, ovaries and uterus.
so, the term urogenital apply more to males than the females.
