Explain why the frequency of color blindness is higher in males than in females in the human population?
colour blindness is (x-linked ressive)
In males the sex chromosomes are XY
in females sex chromosomes are XX
It is more common in men than in women because the genes responsible for the color blindness are present on the X chromosome.
Males have only one X chromosome whereas females have two X chromosomes.
In males only one defective X chromosome is enough to cause colour blindness.
In females, two defective X chromosomes are required to cause colour blindness. This type of inheritance pattern is called X-linked inheritance and it primarily affects males.
It does not transfer directly from father to son
transfer from father to grand son(skip of generation),where mother acts as carrier with one X achromosome affected
