Scenario 6: Your organization is shifting and you have a team of employees that have been notified that they are no longer part of the organization. Some employees will have an end date in one month, some in three months and some in six months. A few employees feel betrayed and are no longer performing at a high level. These employees are scheduled depart in six months.
1. How will you keep these employees motivated?
1. The employees who are going to leave the organization in six months can be motivated by offering chances of job security or good monetary benefits while leaving the organization if they perform well. As the organization is shifting, the employees can be offered employment in new location or associated organizations if they show high performance. The chances of ensuring job security would motivate the employees and they will try to show good performance. Another method can be providing reward in the form of monetary benefits for high performing employees while leaving the organization and it would help them to meet the financial requirements till they get a new job. Hence the employees would get motivated and would try to perform well in order to get the reward. The management should discuss with the employees who feel betrayed to convince them on the reasons that led to shifting and lay off. The employees would extend their support when the management becomes successful in explaining their position.
