You are the director of a multicultural team with employees across the globe. Your team rarely has the opportunity to meet in person, but you have been given the budget to bring everyone together for a week-long global team meeting and team building. How would you structure the time together? What are some of the activities you would suggest to build stronger relationships among team members?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Below are some of the activities I would suggest to build stronger relationships among team members:

1. Addressing the team members: The team members must be addressed by the leadership team about the success of the organization through their consistent team efforts and working with each other which would motivate the team members even further.

2. Team building activities: The team members must be allowed to participate in team building activities which would bring them together and create stronger bonding among team members.

3. Ice breaking sessions: Several ice breaking sessions must be organized so that the team members who do not know each other get together and know each other better so that they are able to work with each other as well.

4. Team lunch or dinner: Another way to get the team together is to arrange team lunch or dinner so that the team members chat with each other over food and create bonding with each other.

Your organization is hiring a new director. You are on the hiring team (but not leading it). The hiring team leader (powerful and senior to you) wants to hire A. You believe B is a much better choice. The rest of the hiring team is supporting the team leader due to groupthink. In response to this scenario, explain how you would use ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade the team to select candidate B (your choice).
