To ensure that the workers in a manufacturing division are motivated is of great importance to any plant manager. The effectiveness and efficiency of the workers in a manufacturing plant depend heavily on their motivation levels. The skills required for handling the in-plant work can be learnt within a few weeks, however, motivation of workers remain critical to the operational efficiency of the plant. Workers having adequate skills may perform poorly if their motivation levels of lower, hence, it is required for the plant manager to devise strategies to keep the motivation levels of the plant workers high to enjoy a highly productive workplace.

In order to motivate the workers the plant manager can develop strategies that relate to the corporate social responsibility. As a plant manager the initiatives towards safety of the employees, training and development of the workers to take on good advanced roles within the organization are some of the ways in which workers can be kept motivated to work hard. Also, investing the efforts into developing the social aspects of the community surrounding the plant will help in developing a mindset within the workers that the company does focus on betterment of the workers as well. Since most of the workers in the plant hail from nearby towns, it becomes important in terms of motivation levels of the workers once we work towards developing the surrounding areas of the plant as well.

Hence, these are some of the tactics that can be utlised by the plant manager to keep the motivation levels of the workers high and sustain it.
