What is meant by the mass media dynamic and what are some of the challenges we face in critically assessing media content? Why might news media outlets engage in sophistic objectivity?
As we review chapter 1 and brainstorm the question about mass media dynamic, the first thing we ought do is see things from a broad perspective; we think about how information is communicated and translated to society and, we can automatically deduct that because of the correlation between people and media, it has a tendency of being bias and lack of good essence of grounds. Due to the fast and reliable ways for communication, it really leaves grey areas for critical debates. Is the information being transmitted true? Is it based on reliable sources? Is it being influence by politics, religions, and/or any other factors? “In modern society, mass media often drive our perceptions. It is important to recognize that different cultures have different moral values and to acknowledge that some practices should be universally abhorred and stopped, even if they are partially or wholly accepted in other cultures.". Additionally, to these unanswered questions there’s the predominance of how society takes this information from the media and replicates it to make true; true to themselves and to others they can get to, “If we look at the media asconduits or channels of communication, an importantdynamic of the media is their ability toamplify not only communication, but alsothe ramifications of the reported events”. In the world we live in today, media has become a major factor into society’s lives, and although it has funnel and expedited their ways to get to the audience, it engages and questions the validity, quality and reliability of its source; which tends nowadays to be a major concern for the society, is it reliable information that is being communicated seeking positive purpose, or is searching for propaganda, popularity and/or other purposes from the audience,
