Any or all of the above |
Answer - Any or all of the above.
The body has a nervous system inclusion labelled as the
Autonomic nervous system or the ANS. There are two sub parts of the
ANS. These sub parts are the sympathetic and parasympathetic
response. The sympathetic response is generated in a fight or
flight situation. It's basic function is to make the body ready for
the situation of either fight or flight accordingly to the
response. Conditions like anxiety, fear, stress, and arousal, all
these factors tend to activate the sympathetic nervous system. When
the body comes across any of the above mentioned situation, on
activation of the sympathetic response, the neurotransmitter
activate specific receptors on multiple organs which prepare the
body for condition of emergency. It includes increased heart rate,
pupillary dilation and other multi-systemic effects.
'The parasympathetic response is the opposite. When the body is in
a relaxed state, the parasympathetic response is more dominant. It
is more functional while in situation of utter happiness and
relat4d emotions and surrounding and have reverse effects to that
of the sympathetic system.
