During anerobic metabolism oxygen is absent in to cells. Glucose is first metabolised to form pyruvic acid in cytosol of muscle .Then Pyruvic acid undergo anerobic pathway to form the Lactic acid with the help of Lactate dehydrogenase using the reducing equivalents(NADH + H+).
During Anerobic metabolism Net yield from metoblism of Glucose is 2ATP as NADH produced during the glycolysis is utilised in converting pyruvic acid to lactic acid.
