Whether you are same sex parents or heterosexual parents when it comes to parenting most the challenges are common like no bonding, life imbalance, failure to impart moral values and lack of time. Same sex parents may face few more issues like lack of social acceptance in society. There is stigma attached with society that whether child will also lead into same sex life style in future and question on values and moral imparted to child.

Majorly, same sex parents can have children through heterosexual relation before or through adoption or donor insemination. If child is from pervious heterosexual relationship then there is chance of losing custody, since there will be fear that court will take side of towards heterosexual parents. In case Donor insemination child may develop a curiosity in later part of their life to know the donor father. Adoption on other side is very noble and negates all the concerns of above.

Pros and Cons of same sex adoption

Cons:

A) Acceptance in society: There has been many laws and awareness in society about same sex relationship but still there is lot of discrimination which will take a long while for our society to reform. This may result in bulling of child at school.

B) Mental health of child: the child raised in same sex parenting may have high chance of depression due to lack of self-respect and society’s outlook.

C) Not all are cut for parenting: Once we have child, then only we can understand the responsibility it brings with it, so one should be completely sure before taking parenting.

Pros:

A) Home: it gives a chance to child in system to get a better life, as in most cases child is from adoption centre.

B) Feeling of family: Having a child gives same sex parent a feeling of family which they otherwise won’t had.
