Should violation of the terms of agreement of a website be a crime? Why or why not? If you think it should depend on the type of site and the type of violation, explain the criteria to make the distinction.
Violation of the terms of agreement of a website is may or may not be a severe crime because it totally depends on what type of violation of terms on what type of website done by you whether the violation affects the company policy or user policy or it affects the other users or affects the company financially or users trust on company or violation result in fall of image of company in the market it will be more clear by taking an example.
Suppose there is an company in which you violates the terms of agreement of their social media website by using some abusive language posting something like political post or something like that tends to mislead the others if other user report your post as spam or inappropriate and company finds you that you violates the term of agreement of their website they just blocked you or take down your post from their webste and there will be no criminal charges on you for this type of activity.
Suppose there is an another company like banking company in which you violates the terms of agreement of their website like any technical fraud, or any cyber attack done by you which affects the company financially or other users trust on company or violation result in fall of image of the company in the market will be consider as a cyber crime they will have the right to take you to court under legal criminal charges.
