Most common effects of cocaine on the body (physically and psychologically)-

Use of cocaine can affect the person in short term and long term both.

Short- term effects-

• The person may feel restlessness, irritability and anxiety, and become panic also.
• The person feels very high (euphoria), feels high energy, very high self- esteem.

Long- term effects-

• His/her blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature may increase.
• S/he may also feel tremors, vertigos, tics etc.
• After taking for long time, the person may be erratic or violent, paranoid or homicide.

Cocaine is highly addictive drug because it stimulates the brain and causes the extreme euphoria.

The tolerance for the cocaine is very high in our body. Once the addict use any amount of cocaine s/he may fail to achieve the same level of euphoria, that's why s/he needs to take more amount of it for the every next time.

The use of cocaine is still very popular because of some believe- cocaine is non- addictive and recreational drug. Another reason of popular use of cocaine is media promotion through songs or movies.
