The Problem:

You are the HR Manager of a health food store which sells vitamins and supplements. You recently gave a health and wellness survey to your sales team and found shocking results: 95% said that they weren’t getting enough sleep each night.

When you told your boss about these results, she was very concerned that sleep could affect employees’ job performance. So, she has asked you to write a report to suggest 2 ways to help employees improve their sleep.

Please write a 1-1.5 page report which includes the 4 sections below. To decide which order to put these sections in, find out if this is a direct or indirect report.

  • Recommendations
  • Conclusion

Grammar & Report Structure

  • Ensure your sentences are under 20 words and your paragraphs are under 150 words.
  • Include a title, headings and subheadings which stand out.
  • Use simple and familiar language. Pretend your boss is skimming through your report quickly; would she be able to easily understand what you’re saying?
  • Submit your answer in a Word document.
  • Use 12-point font in Times New Roman, Calibri, Cambria or Arial.
  • Make your 2 recommendations very specific and concrete so that your boss can easily apply them.
  • Use transition words to connect your sentences.
  • Put the subject and the predicate at the beginning of your sentences.
  • Make sure your sentences and bullet points are parallel.
  • Only use bullet points in your Recommendations.
  • Ensure each paragraph in the Research section has a topic sentence, 2-3 supporting sentences and a conclusion.

Ways to improve the sleep

· Introduction

According to research it is proven fact that an adult needs at least 6 Hr to 8 Hr sleep in a day and out of this 25% to 30% of the time person should be in deep sleep. A good deep sleep ratio helps the body to rejuvenate and regain for the next day. Good sleep can improve concentration, productivity, lower risk of any heart diseases, improves body immunity and many other advantages.

There are many reasons which can cause poor sleep in an individual and they are as follows; stress, late night caffeine intake, late night alcohol intake, poor food habits, poor sleeping schedule in a day and many other reasons.

Many researchers have concluded that for better sleep results one should do the following actions;

1. Doing regular Exercise

2. Have a balanced Sleep Schedule

3. Keep a comfortable sleep environment

4. Eat less at night

5. Avoid caffeine & alcohol

6. Do Yoga or Meditation to de-stress

· Recommendations

In today’s modern age, there are lot of smart fitness bands / devices available in the market which can help one to monitor the sleep schedule and track fitness (Fitbit, Mi-band, Garmin)

Company should invest and give such fitness bands to each of the employees and start educating the team about the benefits of good sleep and active lifestyle to avoid any health problems

· Conclusion

Company should organize sessions on health awareness among the employees. This will not only educate employees about the health hazards due to poor sleep also it will create a positive environment in the company where employees health is given equal importance.

Also company to organize free health check up sessions every month. This will also kind of awareness program by which company would get the information about the employees health.

Many company do organize marathon, trekking trips and other sports activities this will also be helpful creating a healthy lifestyle environment in the company.
