Imagine you are in HR department and HR manager has advised you to design a basic framework which will eventually lead to the development of recruitment, selection and induction policies. Framework for recruitment, selection and induction will go as a following steps:

  1. Identify the vacancies in the organisation.
  2. Identifying expectation of skills and experience, qualifications, location, etc from candidates. Plan the recruitment processpinp very detail.
  3. Get the recruitment plan approved by authorities.
  4. Advertise the vacancy clearly and invite applications from canditates.
  5. After the closure of applications cut-off date, shortlist canditates based on applications and get prior approval for inviting them for interviews.
  6. Invite candidates shortlisted for interviews.
  7. Conduct interviews- written, verbal, etc.
  8. Selection of candidates who are successful in step 7.
  9. Orally discuss and negotiate terms and conditions of the offer, package, etc.
  10. Once candidate orally accepts the offer. Take a duly signed written form of acceptance from them.
  11. Ask for valid documents and conduct background check and verification of the selected and accepted candidate. Clear and sort out in case of any discrepancies observed
  12. Send oral/written rejection to unsuccessful candidates.
  13. Once background verification is complete and all required documents are submitted, screened and reviewed, prepare induction plan. Get such plan approved.
  14. Send a duly completed offer letter asking for written acceptance from candidate.
  15. Get acceptance from candidate.
  16. Send letter of appointment.
  17. Conduct induction into probationary or confirmed emoloyment in the organisation.
