Studying the problem of domestic violence in USA concerns the whole nation and thus it is macroeconomic study.

In order to study the problem of domestic violence in the USA, the Qualitative Research design is used.

Type of Research : Descriptive Research as it studies about the characteristics of the population in US and how are they being treated. The frequency of the incidents of domestic violence is to be recorded and then data is analysed for its impact.

A Sample is to be collected for the purpose of data collection. As it is not possible to interview the entire population of America,so a sample of representatives is chosen for the purpose of survey. Simple Random Sampling Technique is being used to choose the sample. A sample size of 500 residents is being chosen.

Population : American Residents

Sample Size : 500.

In order to collect the data, a survey is being conducted with a structured questionnaire and the residents are interviewed for the domestic violence incidents.

Secondary data is also being calculated from the police data records and the number of violence cases which have been recorded.

Data Collection Method : Primary Data : Survey

Instrument used : Structured Questionnaire

Questions: Multiple choice closed ended questions.

Secondary Data : Data collected from police records of the past domestic violence cases.

Data Analysis : Data is analysed using graphs and Tabular Presentations.

The analysis is positive as it talks about the scenario of domestic violence in USA. All the steps in the research tells about how the things are in USA.

The final suggestions given to the US government is normative economics as it tells about how the scenario can be improved to make it better. Suggestions talk about how the things should be and thus it is normative economics. This can also be done by comparing the condition in USA with other country which is ideal in terms of non-violence.

It is a macroeconomics study as it explains the scenario of domestic violence in the entire country.Individual cases are being collected and then a consolidated picture of the entire country is drawn using the data collected.
