Incarceration on inmates relationships in Ghana
The incarceration of inmates in Ghana prisons tells a struggling story of survival among these prisoners. These prisons are over crowded that leaves overall deprivation in terms of living spaces, food and physical needs.Few studies conclude that the inmates face discrimination and forced sexual relationships from their peers.Since the overcrowding is a common problem, there is potential risk for the spread of communicable diseases, consistent fights and violent offences. On keeping these issues on one side, there may be inapt regulation of prison rules by the police staff. However, Ghana government initiated a 10 year strategic plan for inmates which has a vision for the overall welfare, safe custody and rehabilitation of the prisoners.Alonwith this , better equipment of regulations by officers segregated in to divisions may promise an improved life for them, inside and outside the confinement.
Good Life!
