No. I don't think that everyone should take vitamin supplements.
Because most of people don't need supplements as their body can manage the required amount of essential vitamins from the diet.
Vitamin D (Calcipherol) can be obtained by three ways:
Skin synthesises vitamin D from melanin ( a natrual pigment present in human skin which gives it its color) in presence of UV rays of the Sun.
Diet covers the most need of vitamin D.
Supplements are the last option when body cannot produce enough to meet the bodily requirement. Daily supplements are most effective regime compared to weekly regime.
Vitamin D is responsible for calcium deposition in the bones which makes them stronger. So, deficiency of vitamin D leads to brittle bones which is defined as the disease rickets. Rickets is a disease in which the bones of the body become soft and bend. This happens because the lack of calcium deposition.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is mostly responsible for anti-oxident activities. It protects cells from damaging from free radicals. Tocopherol is released from liver after getting abosrbed by the small intestine from food.
