Question no 1
Pathway of somatosensory system
Many somatosensory systems are present like pain, pressure warmth etc
Let us take pain pathway
The spin receptor in our body will get stimulated by any stimuli for example like a pin prick .
FIRST ORDER. NEURON
They are cells from specific posterior nerve root ganglia. The impulses are received by dentrites and is conducted to the axon to the spinal cord . Then synapse is formed at the greyhorn for further conduction
SECOND ORDER NEURON
The neuron of marginal nucleus and the specific substantia gelatinosa of rolondo form secondary neuron . They move up from the lateral spinothalamic tract . These move through the medulla and reach the ventral posterolateral nucleus.
THIRD ORDER NEURON
they are neurons in
1) reticular formation
2) grey matter around the aqueduct if Sylvius
3) thalamic nuclei
4) tectum
Through the thalamus it reach the sensory cortex which is the main site for perception of somatosensory system
