In the given case study, I would like to put in my own insight on the basis of the articles that I have read about Hobby Lobby and its CEO Mr. David Green.

If asked to me in person I would say that if a company or for that matter an institution is having a religion to surface upon then it would not only be a good company but also a good factor for the society as a whole. This is because, when we base upon a religion or believe and have faith plus fear on the God we believe, be it any, then along with doing business and earning more wealth or profit, we would also be rooted and won’t be making unhealthy gains from the society and exploiting the same for our own benefit.

But at the same time the business should make sure that they does not imply or force any religion on the employees working for them who might belong to many other religions and show any kind of discrimination coming to this part.

Here Hobby Lobby has a culture which sees management as the servants of employees and employees as servants of customers. This is the exact way how the entity should function because these employees are those pillars that make it possible for the management to realize their dreams and goals for which they established this organization. They also help their employees by moving the company minimum wage up above the legal minimum wage, to give employees Sundays off, and to close early so the employees are home on time.

Now coming to Amazon a secular business, there won’t be any religion in particular on which the company would surface upon. They would believe in business and profit. But Amazon does hold a good corporate culture and ensures good pay to its employees. But they may not function in the same way of closing early for the betterment of employees or believe themselves to be the servants of any such employees.

The only thing they would believe in would be their business and its growth, rest everything would be secondary.

SO coming to the conclusion, in my opinion, the job satisfaction and attitudes the Hobby Lobby which is labeled as a Christian company would be more preferable and this would outperform the other i.e. Amazon only for one reason which would be the increased performance and productivity ratio of the satisfied and contempt employees.
