From the book Life on the Edge by James Dobson, anwer this question please.
1. Of the topics discussed, which ones do you see presenting the greatest challenge for you, and why?
The book talks about the critical decade of one's life (16-26) ,where one goes through emotional and physical changes. From graduating ,to moving out from parents home , seeking employment to discovering the world, the major life altering decisions are made at this stage . Book is interesting in many ways and one area that it presented a challenge for me is in the way how James Dobson's explains that a man is always in charge ( assuming that women have no agency of her own ) and that we must put everything in God's hand( denying that free will exist). In the era of increased violence against women around the world and the suppression of her rights, by writing that only a man holds the virtue of sensible decision making and responsibilities, the author unknowingly presented a patriarchal and sexist ideology , which I found problematic and challenging. As a strong and educated women, I find it challenging when a ideology that does prioritize equality among genders, is presented in front of me.
