1) If a customer had a complaint about an employees conduct how would you handle the situation as a supervisor?
It would be rude to talk to an employee regarding the same in front of other people. The best option is to go for a one on one meeting. Listen to the employees version of the story. After that ask the employee to treat customers in a friendly manner and make him understand why it is important. If need be arrange for a behavioural training for the employee. Then call up the customer or drop a mail to the customer about the employees behaviour and assure him that such an event won't happen in future.
2) What are the factors to improve teamwork and success as a supervisor?
Factors to improve teamwork include:
1.Provide opportunity for growth of the employees. That way there will be more collaboration among employees and ambition for growth.
2.Provide them group work. Their KPIs should be related to one another so that they work in group to improve everyone's goals.
3.Involve them in team building activities, outing, participation in projects, so that for the betterment of the output they start working together.
4.Change their workstations regularly, so that they are forced to work with each other.
3) Is there anything you would change about supervisor roles in the organization?
Yes, one thing I want to change about supervisor role is that, instead of just asking them to get their daily output, ask them and provide them opportunity to participate in the decision making process. This is the most demotivating factor for a supervisor that they do the same work over and over again. They should be given opportunity to do something more exiting.
