Describe in detail the similarities and differences between mitosis, meiosis I and meiosis II. Make sure your answer includes the formation of tetrads and whether the products are haploid or diploid and have replicated or unreplicated DNA.
The similarities and differences among Mitosis, Meiosis-I and Meiosis-II have been tabulated as below;
Hence, it can be concluded that the Meiosis-II division is very much similar to the Mitotic division, except that the resulting cells differ in their ploidy.
In addition, the Prophase-I of the Meiosis-I is sub-divided into five stages, known as; Leptotene, zygotene, pachytene, diplotene and diakinesis.
