Major challenges in making evidence base:
- Availability of High-quality information bases on relevant
topic areas and extracting/ collecting strictly relevant
information from it
- Professional competency to convert data into required useful
information
- Technical as well non technical complex issues and associated
interventions from government policies and organization’s
procedures will require some methods that require thinking and
analysis beyond computer-generated data models, under a practical
situation
Being a Department supervisor in a hospital, following
information can be collected to determine quality of
healthcare:
- Stringent and timely checks on all records of patients coming,
medicines and treatment given
- Check on Comments/ Prescriptions/ Recommendations given by
doctor’s for all patients
- Check for any record if doctor’s have gone via patients’
previous medical history, if any
- Check on checklist completed by nurses for patient’s timely
medicine and other healthcare activities, as directed by respective
doctors
- Cross Check with doctors if nurses are following their
recommendations
- Check on above factors with patients, if they are given timely
and complete treatment for any other inconvenience/ issues
faced
- Check data security of all patients’ healthcare records within
the organization, to avoid any legal issues on later stage
- Check if sufficient medical inventory is present with hospital
administration to serve patients in routine and emergency
situations
- Check if all emergency facilities are working and stand by
- Check for facility and hygiene maintenance
- Check on respective certifications required with hospital and
healthcare compliances
