Solutions

Expert Solution

13.E corpus luteum is inactive.

During the secretory phase or luteal phase of uterine cycle,FSH and LH horomes triggers the formation of the corpus luteum from the ovarian follicles and produces progesterone. The increased progesterone triggers the production of the estrogen. Then corpus luteum prevents the production of FSH and LH from pituitary gland. As FSH and LH are dropped in secretion, corpus luteum starts regressing or inactive. Therefore falling level of progesteroen from corpus luteum causes menses. The uterine new lining doesn't form during menses and endometrial lining sloughs off .

14. B,C,D,E

After the ovulation phase, the pituitary gland secretes the the FSH and LH hromones ,it triggers the formation of corpus luteum, releases the progestereone. And therefore, induce releases the estrogen .As corpus luteum starts regressing , progesterone level starts droping causes menses .

15.E) Menopause

During the proliferative phase ,Estrogen level increases and forms the new uterine lining. The progesterone and estrogen level drops during the menses due to suppresion by the FSH and LH .In secretoy phase corpus luteum produces the progesterone and helps in building the endothelial lining thick for implanation. In menarch, FSH and LH remains low. The menopause is characterized by the increased secretion of FSH from Pituitary gland causes stoppage of the menses.

16.E) Stimulates oogenesis and stimulates maturation of primordial follicles in the testes

Follicular stimulating hormones releases from the anterior pituitary induced by the gondotrophin releasing hormones from hypothalamus in male and female, causes maturation of primodial follicles in males and ovarian follicle development in female.
