Is it bad to have an entitlement complex?

Solutions

Expert Solution

To expect special treatment from others just because we deserve it, this feeling or complex is known as entitlement complex. This complex comes from the vicious form of self love, that ultimately harms in the long-term. When this complex arises we believe that we are the center of the world & if the world doesn't meet our need or expectations then sudden outburst of negative emotion like anger or aggressive behaviour occurs unexpectedly. A person suffering from an entitlement complex often behaves in the following manner- a) stays in a state where unrealistic assumptions soar very high which creates issues with family, lovers, employees etc. b) feeling of self pity arises in case of failures & using this emotion to gain sympathy & attention of others c) Seeking happiness at extreme heights even at the cost of sacrificing the interest of others well being. d) The person starts punishing others if they don't meet the expectation.e) The thought process or thinking pattern changes to such an extent that the victim considers other people as competitors or threats. f) The person shows double standards in interacting with other people. So we can safely come to the point that this is harmful to have entitlement complex & when it crosses it limits then it becomes very dangerous as it not only harms oneself but also can endanger the life of others as well.
