Steps we can take to troubleshoot on client workstation:

  1. Turn on network discovery.
  2. Turn on file and printer sharing.
  3. Allow windows to manage homegroup connection (recommended).
  4. Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the public folders.

Steps we can take to troubleshoot this DNS problem on the DNS server:

1. Check your network connectivity.

2. Verify your DNS server IP addresses are correct and in correct order.

3. Find out what DNS server is being used with nslookup.

4. Check your DNS suffix

5. Make sure that your DNS settings are configured to pull the DNS IP from the DHCP server

6. Reboot your DNS router.

Things we do to keep DNS working properly and efficiently:

To get faster internet speed, use OpenDNS. You can also use Google DNS for speeding up your internet. OpenDNS is one of the most popular free DNS services that was started to provide an alternative method to the users who weren’t satisfied with their existing DNS servers.
