1.Blood type is Determined by the presence or absence of Antigens(A,B and Rh) on the surface of RBC .
Blood Type-
a.A +ve --Presence of Antigen A & Rh Antigen on RBC Surface.
b.A-Ve--Presence of Antigen A on RBC surface,no Rh Antigen.
c.B +ve--Presence of Antigen B & Rh Antigen on RBC Surface.
d.B -ve--Presence of Antigen B on RBC surface,no Rh Antigen.
e.AB +ve--Presence of Antigen A, B & Rh Antigen on RBC Surface.
f.AB -ve--Presence of Antigen A, B on RBC surface,no Rh Antigen.
g.O+ve-No A antigen,No B antigen But Rh antigen is present
h.O-ve-No A antigen,No B antigen & No Rh Antigen.
2.AB -ve--
Antigens Present:Antigen A, B
Antigen absent---Rh Antigen.
Antibody -No antibodies.
3.Rh +ve Blood means the Blood group contains Rh Antigen.
Rh -ve Blood Group means the Blood group donot contain Rh antigen.
But Both Rh +ve and Rh -ve Blood donot contain Anti Rh Antibodies Initially. So evenwhen an RH-ve blood recieves Rh +ve blood for the first time there is no transfusion reaction .But during the First time,Rh -ve blood recieving Rh +ve Blood---It starts producing Anti Rh antibodies in blood. So now Rh -ve blood contains Anti Rh Antibody--So if the Blood recieves Rh positive blood again ,There will be Transfusion reaction
An Rh -ve Blood donot contain Rh antigen
