what are intercaling agents and what are their propeties?
Ans...Intercalating agents that are capable of inserting themselves between the successive bases in DNA,as radiation and chemicals like mutagens which are chemical agents that increase the rate of mutation.chemical that can insert itself between the stacked bases at the middle of the DNA double helix possibly causing a frameshift mutation.
properties
The changes of spectral properties of bounded ligands are also observed for DNA intercalating agents, different experimental methods are based on changes in the properties of nucleic acid structures and ligands due to DNA intercalation.
