1) The information management is nothing but the organizational data which manages the people, processes and even technology that provides control to the structure, delivery, processing and the usage of the information that is required for the business and management intelligence process.

Whereas, the data management is the subset of the information management. It mainly comprises of all the disciplines that are related to managing the data of the organization. The data management usually creates, transform, obtain, sharing and even protecting the preserved data.

2) Most of the organizations mainly deals with volumes of data that can help to manage the business. Organization mainly choose to manage the information as the asset to find out many market-differentiating projects which could actually leads to business growth and expansion. So, it is really important that the organization should have proper policies and procedures for data management. So, policies and procedures are important to manage the data and even restrict the data access for increase in the security level, privacy and also for quality purpose. Hence, the policies and procedures are enforced on the data management.
