In America about 16 percent engaged in "binge drinking" meaning that they took 5 or more drinks in the same occasion within a month.Binge drinking is the consumption of alcohol in a pattern that generate a Blood Alcohol Concentration to 0.08 grams percent or above.Not only the college students and adults but also particular adults of 65 or older,binge drinks.A person who continually drink in his adult stage results to develop that behaviour into adulthood and developing an alcohol use disorder.

What are the reasons for binge drink? Sometimes it's because of social pressure or because they feel less anxious or awkward in a social setting. People may also pressured to binge drinking at seasonal events, such as prom or sporting event.The other reason is for fun. As a result it allows them to relax. Binge drinking is very common in celebrations and parties also. The introverted and socially awkward people practice binge drinking in order to loosen up and feel more ease in social situations. One of the most common reasons why people binge drink is to forgot stress and anxieties .The peer pressure and the need to assert dominance may also the reasons for binge drink.

The familes and relatives must be aware about the causes and aftereffects of Binge drinking. They should provide or seek best treatment for the addicted ones. Occupational therapy is one of the best solution to help them learn or relearn job skills; relaxation training,to teach them how to reduce tension without alcohol. Group and individual therapy help them learn something about themselves and to show them how to relate to others without drinking. Any problems in the family setting which lead to drinking should be settled with great effort. Support and caring from family and friends can greatly help the alcohol addict to recover from their adverse situations.
