In your opinion, discuss your long term predictions for the planet. Sum up the major planet-altering events that will arise from human-caused climate change.
What are the impacts in terms of physical damage, chemical contamination, and climate aftereffects?
Dear Student,
Climate change is a phenomenon that has been triggered by human activities and has always been ringing a warning bell. The consequences of climate change have already begun to show up, however the future predictions tells us that things might get even worse.
First, of all we need to realise that climate change is real and is already hapening. It is changing the oceans, glaciers, weather and ecosystems in countless ways. Here are a few events that might occur due to climate change:
Physical damage due to climate change: Global rise in the annual average temperature, Increased forest fires, Extreme weather and drought, Melting of icecaps, Sea level rise are few notable physical damages caused due to the impact of climate change.
Chemical contamination: Climate change has led to a phenomenon called ocean acidificaction. Increased carbondioxide is absorbed by the oceans, which reacts with carbonate ions to produce bicarbonates, thus increasing the acidity of oceans. This contamination of ocean has widely affected the marine ecosystem. Increased carbondioxide has also contaminated the air and is a prime cause for acid rain, that destroys crops and ancient architecture.
Climate aftereffects: Climate change has had its own share of aftereffects. Extreme temperatures have been experienced across globe. There is a heat wave throughtout the planet. Glaciers have melted. Climatic patterns of various places have been altered. Other than carbondioxide emission, deforestation has also played a major role in climate change, pertaining to which precipitation has been affected in a lot of places, resulting in floods and droughts.
Thank you!
Please leave a thumbs up.
