Prompt:

Process manufacturing often involves significant energy and material resources, which can be harmful to the environment. Thus, many process manufacturing companies, such as chemical, electronic, and metal processors, must address environmental issues. Companies such as DuPont, Intel, Apple, and Alcoa are at the forefront of providing environmental solutions for their products and processes.

For example, Apple provides free recycling programs for Macs, iPhones, and iPads. Apple recovers more than 90% by weight of the original product in reusable components, glass, and plastic. You can even receive a free gift card for voluntarily recycling an older Apple product.

  1. Do you believe these efforts are enough to address environmental issues? Why or why not?
  2. What are the costs associated with companies implementing recycling programs? Does cost outweigh benefits?
  3. Who's responsibility is it to eliminate environmental waste?

As per Apple inc. inside every iPhone, there lives a new iPhone.Apple had developed a Robot called Daisy,to find out useful things from their already sold iPhone and give them a second life.

Electrical wastes are a major threat to environment for the 21st centurie. The growth of technology and mass production of electronic gadgets had increased the need to address the environmental damages created by them. So the Tech Companies are now more focused on how effectively they can manage these electrical wastes, thereby reducing the damages caused to environment.

There are lots of costs associated with recycling programs.it includes the cost incurred for collecting the used goods, then sorting it,and finally the cost of recycling, like cost of machinery and labour charges paid for recycling the products.Because of these high cost of recycling, many companies had decided to dispose the waste instead of recycling.

The low demand for recycled goods leads to overweighing the cost of recycling than the benefits of recycling.

It's not only corporate responsibility, but also a responsibility of every consumers to protect the environment.Every one should be aware of the environmental damages caused by these goods. As part of reducing electronic wastes tech gaints like Apple and Samsung had stopped the supply of chargers in the box, with their phones. They asked their customers to continue use the old existing chargers with the new phone, without throwing them away.

In the coming future companies will start producing goods with recycled raw materials as part of cost reduction and to reduce the wastage.

Semiconductor microchip processing often involves with chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In this process a stream of Silane gas (SiH4) enters a reactor chamber, reacts with oxygen (O2) which comes to the chamber from another stream; this reaction results in production of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and hydrogen gas (H2). Silicon dioxide leaves the chamber in the form of solid thin film, but the rest of materials leave the chamber in gas phase. The chamber has rigid non insulated walls and it...
