SAR-CoV-2 exploits what general phenomenon in infecting humans (our immune system uses the same phenomenon to defend us against pathogens)?

A. ACE-2.

B. Receptor recognition.

C. Endocytosis.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer :- "A" i.e ACE-2.

Explanation :- SARS- CoV- 2 or Covid19 is cause a pandemic situation throughout the world now a days. This Covid19 virus use ACE-2 receptor for infecting human. This ACE- 2 receptor is used by our body also to protect against virus or pathogen. When a virus or Pathogen entered in the body , body releases interferons which are the proteins which stimulated the genes which encode ACE-2 receptor . So all the cells are activated to fight against pathogen.

But in case of Covid19 when interferons stimulate the genes which encode ACE-2 receptor i.e help to produce more ACE-2 which help to Covid19 to infect more cells.
