Solutions

Expert Solution

SOLUTION:

From given data,

In a distribution, X=75, and standard deviation=5. if z=3 is the maximum z score value of a data value in the distribution, and z=-2 is the minimum z score value of data in the distribution, then the range of the distribution is equal to

= X = 75

standard deviation = = 5

z = 3 is the maximum z score value

z = -2 is the minimum z score value

We know that,

z = X - /

z * = X -

X = z *

Now,

Maximum X value = 75 + 3* (5) = 90

Minimum X value = 75 - 2*(5) = 65

Then the Range ,

Range = Maximum - Minimum

Range = 90 - 65

Range = 25
