What happens to your body if you get stung by a bee and you are allergic? 1. Explain the science in your own words as if you are describing it to someone with no scientific knowledge (make sure you use appropriate words).
Allergy is the reaction of own body to outside things. Bee sting
is such a reaction which take a foreign body into the body in the
form of venom of the bee. This venom is known as allergen.
It occurs in two steps:
When The Bee venom is injected into the body, the body will
develop some immunity cells that bind to the the venom molecules.
These specialised cells that will catch up the venom and show it to
the helper cells in the specialised junctions of the body. There,
the helper immune cells have never seen this venom before. On
meeting the venom, it will be converted into a special form of
helper cell. The converted cell will release some chemicals that
will trigger the production of molecular weapons by an another type
of immune cells. The converted helper cell will also produce some
chemicals that will promote production of some specialised immune
cells that will kill and destroy the Bee venom. The molecular
weapons produced have the ability to attach to a specialised type
of immune cells, thus completing the first stage.
In the second stage, when the person is injected with Bee venom
after some days or months, this attached complex will recognize the
venom and lock tightly with it. Upon doing this, cell will release
some chemicals that causes the itching , swelling , redness and
related symptoms.
