Explain the difference between shear and thixotropy
Thixotropy:
Thixotropy is the continuous decrease of viscosity with time when flow is applied to a sample that has previously been at rest, and the subsequent recovery of viscosity when the flow is discontinued.
Shear :
Force acting on a surface to relative motion of fluid one the object , shear force given by newton's law of viscocity
where mue is viscocity coefficient ,
v-velocity gradient
x-distance
