Some of the rights that are fundamental to every employee in my workplace are

  • The right to work in an environment that is safe and feasible for every employee.
  • The right to work in an environment that is devoid of any discrimination.
  • The right to be compensated fairly for the work performed.
  • The right to be able to refuse to perform a task if its injurious or not safe.
  • The right to choose a workspace or empty cabins to focus specifically on a task.

The rights that might be exploited by employees are usually the right to refuse to work in a safe place. For example, when employees are asked to not perform a certain job until an area in the workplace has been cleared for safety, they usually do not perform any other task either that can be performed irrespective of the workplace hazard. Employees tend to discriminate against people sometimes in the workplace when there is a majority from a specific group or culture. This is a problem in firms that are not diverse. However, some employees from my firm do this as wellby discrimnating in a mild manner. These two rights are exploited most of the time compared to the others which are not in the employee's control. Fair compensation can only be violated by the employer and not the employee.
