How and why did the capitalist evolve from the merchant
The capitalist earliest stages arose the period between the centuries of 16th and 18th, are commonly known as merchant capitalism. This period between the 16th and 18th centuries was associated with geographic discoveries by overseas merchant traders, mainly from the Low Countries and England; the European colonization of the United States; and the rapid overseas trade growth. The main motive of merchant leaders were the opening and well-balancing of trade; the idleness banishing; the husbanding and improvement of the soil; the cherishing of manufacturers; the repressing of excess and waste by sumptuary laws; the price regulation. However industrial capitalism rose in mid-18th century. It was mainly was also associated with the fall of mercantilism due to the industrial revolution. The direction and control of large areas of industry in the late 19th century came into the financier’s hands; and this period is termed as finance capitalism
