a. Advertising on Social media- It is a process of using paid social media channels to advertise the business on social networks. Pop-ups of companies advertising their products or services that we get while on a website are paid advertisments that the website does for that company. It is a form of advertising that helps in introducing or informing the users about a product or service through a channel they are using and viewing often.
Benefits of advertising on social media can be increase in brand visibility, helps in improving brand loyalty, though it costs mosny but is less expensive that traditional advertising.
challenges in advertising on social media can be designing of the right type of ad that will attract taregt customers, if the responses are nil it will be a waste of money, difficulty in conveying the right message, competition in this channel of advertising, ignorance of users due to bulk advertisements.
b. Marketing using social media- This is thr process of pomoting your product or service on social media without the use of paid advertisment. It would include feeding blog posts, videos or informational graphics that show the features of the product or service. This methods helps customers to have more knowldge about the product and being convinced to purchase it.
The benefits of social media marketing can be that it enables to reach large audiences, it is free of cost, encourages sharing within the network, boosts brand loyalty, getting immediate feedbacks from customers.
The challenges can be that negative feedback can make bad impact on other customers loyalty, it is a time consuming and complex way as it invloves large audiences so any wrong step can effect it adversely, targeting the right customers also becomes a challenge if not planned properly.
