Examine the internal and external culture through the lens of behavioral indicators, and offer suggestions to increase organizational results
my Disscussion
I would like to discuss Whole Foods Market for my organization. The organizational structure of Whole Foods is family oriented, with equal opportunity for all. They look at their employees as partners not (workers). They stress the importance of each person doing their job to make the organization a success.
The culture at Whole Foods does promote diversity. All employees male and female, white, black, Asian, Latino, have the same opportunities and job enhancements afforded to them. Best practices of Whole Foods are making employees feel and know they are partners in the organization. I really do not see any behaviors to avoid (from the outside looking in).
Behavior within the organization contributed to my answers positively. I like the fact that Whole Foods regard their employees as partners. It makes them want to strive to make the organization better. They know they are a part of something that holds their best interest. They also afford their partners with avenues to move up in the company regardless of race or religion, male or female.
my topic is Whole Food Market
Organizational behavior is an area of study that looks into how organizational structures influence the behavior of persons within an organization. The study of how an organization operates commonly known as organizational theory studies is focused on how an entity is able to mark out the problems that affect them. Also, the way they solve the problems that affect them and how they increase their productivity and effectiveness is part of the organizational theory studies.
Organizational theories differ from one organization to the other, and the difference is brought about by the way an organization responds to a problem that affects them. This is because the issues that affect one organization might be unique from those affecting another organization. Employee satisfaction is one of the benefits that are derived from a good organizational culture. Organizational culture is a structure of shared viewpoints, principles and assumptions which dictate how people behave in an organization (Hill & Jones, 2010). The shared principles have a positive influence on the way people in the organization carry themselves for instance how they perform their duties how they dress and how they act. The employee satisfaction encourages the involvement and engagement of the employees as they contribute to the growth of the organization. On the other hand, lack of employee satisfaction results into a messed up workforce that is not concerned with the growth of the company. A disengaged workforce is only concerned with their personal gain and not the development and sustainability of the organization. Employee satisfaction has a positive effect on work as it makes the employee more responsible in their work and they perceive the organization as their own. As a result, the productivity of the organization is improved when the employees are more satisfied. There is a healthy interactive relationship between employees when they have a good working relationship between themselves, and this has a positive influence on productivity. When the employees are satisfied, the customers will also be satisfied, and this is because the employee acts as a good representative to the organization to the outside world. The result of the personal outcome of the life of the employee when he or she is satisfied is elevated since they feel more appreciated as part of a bigger organizational family.
Diversity is also a benefit that has made many organizations to flourish. Organizations that invest on diversity are seen to have an upper as the collection of the different cultures work to increase the efficiency and productivity of the organization. When an entity has a way of embracing diversity it realizes benefits of increased adaptability of the workforce in solving the applicable issues affecting the organization. Diversity within an organization comes with a broader service range due to the diverse collection of skills and experiences of the different people from diverse backgrounds.
The internal culture of an organization promotes good healthy working relations between the employees of an organization (Contreras, 2007). Consequently, a good internal culture policy of an organization allows the employees to encounter personal growth as they are part of the decision making the mechanism of the organization. In terms of the external culture of an organization as a behavioral indicator allows peer organizations to compare notes through networking forums. Through the networking forums, organizations can borrow a leaf from another well, established organizations and this if handled with the right seriousness can enable an organization to adapt new ways of enhancing productivity.
